Marcus focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and consultation, with an emphasis on America Invents Act post-grant proceedings including post-grant review, inter partes review (IPR), and covered business method proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Marcus assists clients in attaining, litigating, and defending intellectual property rights in a range of technological fields, including telecommunications, data communications, TFT-LCD panels, computer memory systems, LED lighting, facial recognition, HVAC systems, nanotechnology, MEMS devices, orthodontic devices, spinal implant devices, and health/fitness monitors.

Marcus also has extensive trademark experience preparing and prosecuting trademark applications representing clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has prepared freedom-to-use and registration opinions for trademarks, and has managed trademark litigation involving likelihood of confusion, priority, unfair competition, and domain name issues in U.S. district courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Prior to becoming an attorney, Marcus was an Attitude and Pointing flight controller in Mission Control for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program.
